Every year for over 27 years, the Tucson International Mariachi Conference has been bringing people to Tucson from all over the United States and Mexico. Mariachi Tesoro de Tucson will attend the workshops in the 2010 TIMC and hopes to perform at the Student Showcase and Garibaldi Festival as well.
Mariachi Tesoro de Tucson has been performing at the Tucson International Mariachi Conference since 2007. Each year, Mariachi Tesoro has performed in the Student Showcase and are proud to do so again this year. The group is working hard to prepare and looking forward to learniing new songs and new techniques during the conference workshops. Of course, there's also the fun in jamming with all the other mariachis from youth and professional groups after workshops and other events are over and new friendships and learning takes place. Mariachi Tesoro will perform at the Garibaldi Festival at 4:15 pm and looks forward to seeing all the other talented groups.
This year the
Mariachi Tesoro de Tucson participated for the second time in the master class. Tesoro musicians had a great time and learned new songs, and, as happens every year, they go to meet some great musicians - both young and professional. All Tesoro musicians shared the same sentiment by the time the Conference ended: It's over already! They all wanted it to last longer. "Three days isn't long enough," blogged one on Facebook. All were in agreement.
Even though the musicians and their
Director Jaime Valenzuela work hard and seem exhausted to the casual or careful observer - being exhausted isn't a bother to them. They
love mariachi too much.
Already looking forward to 2011!!!
